The Korean Education Centre India (KEC India), under the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, will officially launch its Korean Language Pilot School Programme through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with selected Indian schools on May 15, 2026, in New Delhi.

The Pilot School Programme has been designed to support the introduction and strengthening of Korean language education in Indian schools through structured classes, cultural activities, educational exchange opportunities, and long-term academic collaboration. The ceremony marks a significant step in expanding Korean language education and strengthening Korea–India educational cooperation at the school level.

As part of its broader educational outreach initiative, KEC India will also organise ‘K-Quiz India 2026- The 1st Korean Language & Culture Quiz Championship’ for Indian School Students on May 26, 2026, at Jawaharlal Nehru University. The competition aims to encourage student interest in Korean language and culture while promoting educational exchange and youth engagement between Korea and India.

The programme is expected to be attended by distinguished guests, including Ambassador Lee Seong-ho, representatives from CBSE, JNU faculty members, school leaders, and education stakeholders. Students from Korean language partner schools across Delhi NCR will participate in an interactive quiz competition covering Korean language, culture, history, food, K-pop, and Korea–India friendship.

School principals, vice principals, and Korean language programme coordinators from participating pilot schools will attend the official partnership ceremony at the Korean Education Centre India.

Speaking ahead of the event, Hojeong Ko, director, Korean Education Centre India, said, “The Pilot School Programme represents an important step toward building sustainable Korean language education in India. Through close cooperation with Indian schools, we hope to create more opportunities for students to connect with Korea through language, culture, and global education.”
